“Too much fame, too much success and too little critical sifting”
Dave Hickey, The Observer, October 28, 2012
As diverse voices—from PR agents to fans— gain leverage in the conversation around music and art, leading perspectives from the popular music and visual arts worlds discuss the roles and responsibilities of the critic within contemporary creative spheres.
>> Emerging out of Andy Warhol’s Factory, Glenn O’Brien, the original “Editor-at-Large,” was an early contributor to BOMB Magazine. He has edited and written extensively, including for Interview (beginning in 1970), Art Forum, High Times, Harper’s Bazaar, Madonna’s Sex, and GQ.
>> Amongst the most critical and entertaining voices in music writing, Andrew “Noz” Nosnitsky has written for The Fader, The Wire, Pitchfork, XXL and NPR.
This discussion will be recorded for future broadcast on CBC Radio’s Cinq à Six, Saturdays at 5pm (88.5/104.7FM). Details: cbc.ca/cinqasix
