SBC Gallery of Contemporary Art presents:
A WORKSHOP WITH PABLO SIGG
AND THOMAS KEENAN
Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Image credit: Pablo Sigg, still from the film The Will to Power, 2012, HD video, 61 minutes.
Led by artist Pablo Sigg (Mexico City) and Thomas Keenan (Director of Human Rights Project, Bard College), this full day workshop will take Sigg’s film The Will to Power as its subject and as the starting point for an exploration of questions related to the subjects of sovereignty, of language, of territories - as raised in the film - and other topics, as they emerge throughout the workshop day. The participating group will view the film and consider selected texts and other visual and written materials for discussion.
Reading material will be provided to participants prior to the workshop.
In order to keep the workshop ‘work-able’, numbers will be limited: while the workshop is free, advanced registration is required and will be dealt with on a first-come first-served basis.
It is recommended that participants attend the film screening and conversation between Pablo Sigg and Thomas Keenan at Cinémathèque on Friday, November 15th at 6:30pm.
