We are delighted to announce the addition of two new members to the Board of Directors of the SBC Galerie d'art contemporain. We extend a warm welcome to Emeren Garcia and Mariana Castellanos, and look forward to developing inspiring projects together under their wise and benevolent guidance.

Emeren Garcia
Art historian and museologist
With a degree in art history and museology from the Université de Montréal, Emeren García (Villarquemado, Teruel, Spain) was a member of the curatorial team at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) from 1990 to 2020, where she was in charge of exhibitions touring. For over 25 years, she organized and circulated MAC exhibitions throughout Quebec and elsewhere in Canada, as well as abroad (United States, Colombia, Japan and several European countries), and participated in numerous partnership projects and/or museological activities in various other countries (Ivory Coast, Cuba, Spain, Senegal, Turkey). She has also curated exhibitions designed mainly for touring.

Mariana Castellanos
Cultural manager and museologist
Mariana Castellanos holds a Master's degree in Cultural Business Management from HEC Montréal and a Master's degree in Museology from Université de Montréal. This has led her to coordinate projects in partnership with national and international cultural organizations, and to collaborate with professional artists, curators and mediators. She has worked as a research and content advisor for Culture Montréal and the Consulate General of Mexico in Montreal. She is currently a doctoral student at the École Nationale d'Administration publique. Her research proposes a new conceptual framework and an adapted methodology for analyzing Quebec's cultural policy.
